National Baseball Teams U23 and U18 Conclude Spring Camp 2024

The U23 National Baseball Team joined forces with the U18 National Baseball Team to organize the Spring Camp 2024. This collaborative camp brought together some of the most promising young talents in Belgian baseball for an intensive four-day training session.

Held at the fields of Hoboken Pioneers and Borgerhout Squirrels, the Spring Camp 2024 saw around 45 skilled and dedicated players showcasing their abilities and competing for a spot on the national team. Several players active in American college baseball were not able to be present and will join later on in the program.

The coaching staff for the camp included Rik Ruts, Jackson Longhofer, Freddy Vibert, Dave Boermans, Filip Van Der Meiren, Kris Beeckmans, Benjamin Dille, and Hunter Cooper. Aided by physical trainers Floris De Nijs Bik and Yves Poesmans.

The training sessions covered all parts of the game. Players worked hard on baserunning, situational hitting, pitching, catching, fielding, and defensive situations. Each day finished in a series of games and scrimmages, offering the perfect opportunity for players to apply their skills in a competitive environment.

The collaboration between the U23 and U18 teams created a unique and dynamic environment. It gives the coaching staff the possibility to get an overview of all players, as U18 players are also eligible to play for the U23 team.
