The U12 National Baseball Team will participate in the U12 Baseball European Championship B Pool in Trnava, Slovakia, from July 3rd until July 7th. They will have the following coaching staff:
Jamie Flynn is back to lead the team as the Manager. Flynn filled in the same role during the U12 Baseball European Championship in 2021 and U12 Baseball European Championship Qualifier in 2023, when the team got all the way to the finals. His baseball acumen and leadership learned in US Collegiate Division 1 Baseball are making his players better both on- and off the field.
Freddy Vibert is a newcomer to the coaching staff but by no means a newcomer to international baseball. Currently general manager of Wielsbeke Pitbulls, he will bring to the team as a Hitting Coach a wealth of experience, a quick eye for detail and a touch of humour.
Zion de Brauwer is a member of the Red Hawks and a fresh member of the Hoboken Pioneers. His defensive prowess and youthful energy will surely resonate with the U12 players.
Chris Ruggenberg returns as Pitching Coach following his U12 Gold Division title repeat with Brasschaat Braves. As an accomplished Dutch Youth National Team player, he understands young players and his pitching wisdom, high-octane energy and booming voice became a staple of the U12 National Team dugout last year.
Michel Calamera is another veteran of the 2021 and 2023 U12 National Team campaigns, and he will again act as a Bench Coach and Catching Coach. In a high-pressure tournament environment, his laid-back and kind approach is helping young players to learn how to handle the pressure.
The U15 National Baseball Team will participate in the U15 Baseball European Championship B Pool in Sisak, Croatia, from July 15th until July 20th. They will have the following coaching staff:
Jamie Flynn is also taking over as the U15 National Team Manager to ensure continuity and coherence in the two youngest age groups.
Xander Verspreet graduates from the U12 National Team and will serve as a Hitting Coach. As a young member of the Red Hawks in baseball and softball, he relates to young players with his no-nonsense attitude and experience from high-stakes at-bats.
Dennis de Quint, another graduate from the U12 National Team, will act as a Defense Coach. Although he might have a thing or two to say about hitting as well... With his vast experience as a long-time Red Hawk and top-level player in Belgium and the Netherlands, he imparts to young players the importance of both physical and mental skills.
Cedric Desmedt is the newest staff member and will act as a Pitching Coach. Another accomplished Red Hawk and successful national-level player, his complete game shutout in the 2023 D1 Championship clincher for Deurne Spartans could surely inspire many young aspiring pitchers.
Thomas De Wolf, one of the most renowned Belgian international baseball players with experience from the New York Mets organisation, will serve as a Bench Coach. He brings intensity and focus indispensable for success at the highest level.
